The Upperworld

Dark and ominous, the Upperworld stands as a testament to a world that was; a graveyard painted purple and orange where a caustic atmosphere turbulant with violent storms scars the surface of a once lush planet leaving it lifeless and unforgiving. In The Psych©, both the Upperworld and the Underworld are dual canvases that the story is painted upon, the Upperworld being the torrid reminder that regret lives beyond the lifespan of those that birthed it, and overtakes those that inherit it.

Within this landscape of a world turned deadly, nature has taken a perverse turn leaving nothing remaining on the surface to support human life. Vegetation succumbed centuries passed as the atmosphere transformed into clouds of toxic gasses which eventually overtook the planet. With the passing of plant life and the eventual dissipation of water, humanity was forced to retreat into the protection of the Earth; re-building civilization with the synthetic production of the life-giving necessities of water, food and oxygen. In a scathing environment where occasional bulks of destruction represent all that remains of once-great cities, time upon the surface is only spent by those locked within protective gear; the corrosive gasses delivering immediate death without the protection.

The pages within this section of the site house many of the stories I’ve written about life within this landscape; survival in a world where survival should not be possible. While humanity has found the means to endure, life in the world of The Psych© is not splendid by any means as you the reader shall find when you travel into my stories. What you will find there though, is that one thing lives on even in a horrific world; heroes can be discovered in the most unusual of places, especially when they are given no other choice but to accept their own demons and find the means to survive.
